St. Spyridon the Wonderworker of Tremithon (348). Serbian Mother’s Day.
In the morning of Materice, the children suddenly tie their mother. The children then wish a happy Feast of Materice to her, and she pays the ransom with the prepared presents.
St. Spyridon was born in Askeia, in Cyprus. He worked as a shepherd and was known for his great piety. Upon the death of his wife, Spyridon entered a monastery, and their daughter, a convent.

Св. Спиридон је родом из Аские на Кипру. Био је пастир чувен по побожности. Након смрти жене, замонашио се заједно са ћерком.
